Congratulations to Edward “Eddie” Ruiz for successfully defending his PhD thesis on March 16th!
Eddie’s dissertation, “Scaling Spatial Omics with Analytical Databases”, pushes the boundaries of how we handle and analyze large-scale spatial omics datasets — work that will have a lasting impact on the field. Eddie completed his degree through the Genetics and Genomics Program at Boston University.
Eddie is the second student to graduate from the Dries Lab, and this defense was extra special: he was the first student to be hooded by Ruben at the graduation ceremony. A proud moment for the entire lab!
